IC piping.....

I have looked and searched but can't come up with an answer. I have been looking at various companies for UICP and LICP and can't figure out why price difference. Only thing that I can figure out is buying the name just like anything else. Is one comapny better than another? Is any built different or stronger? I've found Neisi to be cheaper but AMS to be more expensive. Thanks for your help.

There is no difference, if the stated diameters are the same. Unless you go with a real ****ty off brand, they're all going to fit, they're all going to work, they're all going to be shiny pieces of pipe.

Pick your favorite brand of shiny metal, and buy it.

The only big savings you might be able to warrant is by doing package deals; call AMS up and say you're looking to do one of their shortblocks in 2010, and they might bang off some bucks off their IC kit.

Welcome to marketing. My badge is better than yours, and I prove it by paying more. Flex flex.

AMS fits perfectly. And I mean PERFECT.

I have Nisei and it fits very well, but if you search than you will find that some people have complained about a couple fitment issues but they are both very well made brands.

AMS, ETS, Injen, and Nisei fits perfectly. All those i liked and i had before.
None of those above are nasty fitting. They fit real snug, tight and perfectly. *Yeah, sounds werid, if you're thinking sexual, hahaha!*

Haven't tried any others, so i wouldn't know who the other fits. \:

definitely try to get one in a package deal with a FMIC purchase. I saved decent money off the UICP by buying a FMIC with it from AGP.

i would do the package thing but...... Perrin has a stage 3 ( i know one stage is not same stage for other retailers / tuners) for cheap compared to most others if you were to buy all seperate, but no IC piping.

Also look at the quality of the silicone couplers and make sure the ends of the pipes are beaded else they will keep popping off!!!

Yeah, and I had been waiting on Perrin to release their piping for forever to match the FMIC so that I could complete the Stage 3 kit, but couldn't take the delays anymore and went with the AGP deal on here. Turns out that the AGP setup with UICP is still a couple hundred cheaper than the Perrin FMIC alone!

Really the most important and overlooked aspect of intercooler piping is the quality of the silicone couplers. IMO this is where the Japanes brands fail the most at as I've had issues with the cheap/thin couplers with Greddy and HKS products. I have the AMS UICP and the couplers are very high quality which is why they seal perfectly without the need for T-bold clamps.

not sure if you bought any yet...

But the only two words you need to know is Ultimate Racing. Stainless steel tubing for $365

UICP - $170
LICP - $195

Thanks for the good words.

I'd also like to add that our pipes all have bead rolled ends, and the silicone couplers are high quality 3-ply that's made in the USA.
