FP Red questions and options

I have a few question about the options on the FP Red since I think im leaning towards it

1. What is the difference in power people are getting from ported and none ported Reds? I know mods and tuning plays a big deal but any info would help.

2. What are people seeing is the main advantage for the 18psi wastegate actuator

3. And lastly if the upgrade to a red is $999 with your stock turbo, is it worth going that way if I can afford the car being down or are people seeing good return on selling there stock turbos.

Thanks in advance and sorry if these questions have been answered I just have not been able to find them, and I search plenty.

1. I just saw a thread on porting on another forum. I have not see any back to back comparisons but as one of the guys stated Porting = bigger and Polishing = smoother. With FD Cars that usually means better.

2. I have heard that is the BBX WG Actuator is the way to go. I upgraded to a 18 PSI WG with my FP Green but then again no back to back results.

3. Im going to send my stocker in for a Red. Its a great price and to be honest I have not seen anyone get over $400 for there stock turbo in awhile. $3xx seems to be the going rate.

1) i've never seen back to backs, but p&p is probably worth it in theory alone

2) holds boost better. the BBX is just the dom2 actuator, about 21psi, so it is even better, but the 18psi will hold you boost more than the standard, so go for it

3) if you can have downtime, its worth it. PPL sell stock turbos for like 400 or so, and a red is 1600, so its cheaper to send in yours. Plus, FP (last i heard) was out of cores, so there was a lead time

If you are going to get it just get the PnP and the wastegate, they will help.
