Question Radiator of Choice

Is the CBRD Radiator considered or proven to be the best out for our cars?

Does it help with performance considering that you don't over heat on the stock setup?

I'm sorry I do not consider our radiator in the same market as mishimoto. Import tuner tested our thin 1.25" radiator against four others (that were thicker) and ours outperformed them all.

We have 7 radiators for the evo alone.

Sorry, I didnt know it was tested and outperformed other companys. I was leaning towards the mishimoto but Ill be going with the CBRD. Not to take over the thread but does yours come with new hoses?

i am just throwing in what i did. i just bought a mishimoto with lifetime warrenty no questions asked for 230 shipped off ebay. i was gonna go with cbrd but compared the prices and it was more than double that and it might be that they are better but it still is just a radiator and my stock one has been doing an awsome job just feel it was time to upgrade.

CBRD, so is your radiator a direct replacement? I can use the stock fans and same hoses?

I was just looking at the prices at the CBRD store for my EVO 9, $510?

For that price, a lifetime warranty better be given to you! Wow. Like the guy above, I picked up a Mishimoto for less than half of that. Allowed me to be able to start saving for more goodies!

I've been running the CBRD radiator in my personal car for a while now. Excellent fit and finish, perfect alignment and allowed more room for my larger turbo kit. Another plus was the cleaner appearance with the straight route upper radiator hose. I have seen several cars running the Mishimoto and they are thicker than than the stock and don't cool as well. I will continue to run the CBRD Radiator, I don't have an endless budget and would rather buy the RIGHT part the first time instead of buying one part and then having to buy another part later because the first one didn't fit with my mods.

at what point would you suggest an aftermarket radiator? when you start upgrading your turbo etc and are pushing the 500whp area?

It's typically more of a track thing, you have to push the car for extended use to require any additional cooling.

With drag or DD you can run lots of power on the stock system. It never hurts to upgrade but it's not needed. Just watch your temp gauge.

Honestly guys,

most people dont need an upgraded radiator:

But here is why we build ours:

1", 1.25" : to clear big manifold turbo and twin scroll kits- with superior to stock cooling (you will NOT find another radiator on the market with the same amount of clearance as ours... our 1" Race rad has MORE clearance than a stocker)

1.5" straight shot hose and OEM style replacement for stock housing turbo cars

Double pass race radiators: high fin density designed SPECIFICALLY for track cars that are running road racing:

1/2 width- drag race of FMIC setups..

and custom radiators depending on needs (aka Dave Kerns pikes peak car, TA cars etc)

we arent a company that wants to make 10000 radiators for 10000 different cars... we build them for SPECIFIC reasons.

if you just want a radiator upgrade, by all means, check out the other brands... if you want a product designed to exceed certain performance measures and to fill voids that are present in the EVO market... take a look at our product

cheers
