Wideband Sensor Placement

I have heard heat can shorten the life of a wideband sensor. With that said, would it be better to have the wideband sensor placed in the race pipe, or the downpipe?? I'm just about to order my turbo back exhaust, and I'm wondering where I should have the wideband bung placed. Thanks!

I know how to install the wideband sensor itself, but what I'm looking for is experience from people that have had sensors in their downpipe vs farther down stream. I would like to know if it has made any difference in accuracy and longevity for the sensor and readout?

Just make sure to follow the instructions with the kit you get. It should tell you at least X inches away from engine, or between X and X inches from engine.

heat rises, so the heat directly above the pipe is the hottest.

i killed 2 sensors that way, ever since I put it 90degs (3 or 9 o'clock) its been fine!
