Pump gas you should be fine.."should" being the keyword. No setup is bullet proof. However a properly tuned Red on pump should have zero issues.

I have a Green on Pump I made 393awhp on a mustang dyno. I am going with the Red because I want MORE lol. But I've read its about 300rpm difference in lag. Just go big or go home!

I ordered my red, it should be about 2 weeks til I get it and another 2 weeks until im tuned. Ill post a thread about my transition.

Please do, and post overlays if you can.

Also when you made 393, was that with cams and or e85/meth?

I am not sure if I will be able to get overlays as I am going to a different tuner and I dont think I have it on my computer.

It was with Mx1 cams no meth or E85.

I am around 28-29 psi right now. It's a conservative tune. I have pushed 31-32 before, it is fun as hell, but I don't want this turbo to get a reputation.

You would be at the levels I am pushing. ~28 psi.

I may turn it up more later. But the boost is just post spool torque. I still let it max out in the upper RPM range. So I probably have a really flat torque curve. It sets you back in your seat and holds you there until I decide to let off.

MN guys: Maybe I'll make a trip up to the cities sometime. The X is not the best car for road trips. We almost had our summer vacation at Vally Fair, but we went Worlds of Fun instead.

Come to the Mitsu Cookout the 28th Golden Tons of Cars there, we have an X category this year, should be like 8-10 of us X's. I think like 80 cars are signed up now, usually have a ton of people come at the last second too, should be over 100 mitsus.

Ehh, It might be just me but I prefer a little broader power band then top end peak numbers... that's just me. If I had to chose everything all over again, I would still get the Green.

Throwing that on the table. I am at full spool on a Green 26 psi @ 3500 rpm in 3rd. Close to 2900 rpm in 4th...

I will see what happens with a ported intake manifold... teehee.

See, this is what gets me.

There are a few guys that I trust. The ones I trust seem to have a difference of opinion. One thinks I should get the red, another thinks I should get a green.

I too would like the broadest power band available, without changing the rev limit of course.

I have stated that my goal is 400whp without cams, E85, or Meth. I now know that really isn't possible. Looking at shear spool the green seems the best to provide quick spool and a decent power bump (380-390 from what I understand).

From my readings I have a few people that I trust stating the Red would spool a few rpm's later with proper MIVEC configuration. However, I see the vast majority of others having issues getting the Red to spool that early, so that makes we wonder....

I have been trying to make this decision for some time now, and quite frankly I'm tired of thinking about it...Does anyone know if FP would swap me out if I change my mind inside of a month of usage, if I decide I made the wrong choice?

Nope once its on your car there is no swapping.

Other than the cams I have a completely stock engine. Spring/retainers are stock too. From what Ive seen only high boost is going to make big power on the Black. (By high boost I mean over 30PSI) and I plan to stick around the 26/27psi mark. I dont want to hit the 500whp mark until I build my engine. I figure cams and the FPRed should put me around 470whp (under 400wtq) so I am hoping to be ok.
