the level of help here is uncanny :P

dealer was supposed to drain the tank this afternoon but didn't get back to me... so no status update til 7am tomorrow.

if the fuel drain doesn't fix it... getting it towed home to check pump and fuel pressure... otherwise it's getting towed to AMS :P

as far as the link on that hose issue... the BlaqOps kit replaces that hose with something that is a bit more robust looking. still gonna check it I suppose.

I just had an issue with my blaqops fuel line. Car was running very lean, turned out that the line from the pump to the top of the cup had began to tear. I think it might gave been somehow damaged and with the angle the hose gets forced into when the cup goes back in and the fuel pressure the line has almost completely torn in half. I realized something was wrong when I removed the line running from the new inline filter to the stock hard line and I had zero pressure.

I had the same type of hose go bad in my RSX. This is most likely your problem. The outside of the hose will corrode, causing the outer casing to deteriorate. The hose will then begin to kink, cutting off your fuel. I just installed the kit in my Evo and was kind of disappointed in the length and type of hose. Hopefully it works though.

Good luck!

Can anyone make a DIY for the blaqops kit? The instructions on their site are pretty bland.

Did you talk to the people at the station where you bought it? They may be aware of the problem or should me made aware of it.

You can test it yourself like this, the dedicated calibrated tester is optional.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gsSQSuCiUjE

or;

Testing E85 for Ethanol content.
go on ebay and buy a 100ml graduated cylinder ~ glass preferred because the numbers are easier to read.

then do the following test:

Place exactly 50ml of fuel into a 100ml graduated cylinder,

Add 48ml of water and place stopper on cylinder,

Shake vigorously 15 seconds (this is important- I even shake upside down thru part of this- NOTE- BE CAREFUL- it will build pressure and could spray out on you)

Let sit undisturbed 15 minutes. Now observe the upper meniscus where air meets liquid- lower edge of curve is the measurement line for total volume. Record this- please note that 50 ml of fuel and 48 ml of water will NOT equal 98 ml -ask me later why.

Now look for the dividing line between the hydrocarbon on top and the water/ethanol phase below- this is the lower meniscus. Find the bottom side (lowest point) of this curve and record.

Calculation; Formula is 2.1 + 1.94(total vol-alcohol/water volume)

Let say your total (upper) volume was 95 ml and your lower (water/alco) was 82 ml. Then:

2.1+1.94(95 ml total-82 ml lower)=
2.1+1.94(13)=
2.1 +25.22=
27.32% HYDROCARBON
OR 100-27.3=72.68% ALCOHOL

taaaa daaaa! ....now you know if your E85 is REALLY 85% Ethanol.

I just bought one of the testers in the link I posted specifically marked for ethanol content testing.

yea I got 1 too

but if you only have to test once or test fast the graduated test tube will do it for you.

dealer says fuel pump is only making ~10psi at the rail.

guessing my problem is related to the crack valve http://www.srtforums.com/forums/f187...ml#post8553652

getting it towed home, going to drain 3-4 gallons out and swap the pump out for the stocker or another walbro

Well dude, you said you've been on e85 for all of 5000 miles now right? Was there a fuel filter change anywhere in that 5000 miles? Golden rule of switching to e85, change the fuel filter after a few hundred miles or at the VERY most, 2-3 thousand miles. E85's ethanol component is an incredibly bad *** cleaning agent...which means every particle of dirt/grime/fuel nastiness that you've accumulated in your tank and lines over x amount of time of owning the car is now being cleaned by the ethanol and absorbed by your fuel filter.

That would also explain why your fuel rail pressure is so ridiculously low, No fuel getting through the filter (I bet the pressure on the pump side of the filter is ready to volcano all over the place).

Fuel filter is cheap, can't hurt anything anyways right? Cheap solutions first.

I'll save you guys any more trouble... the output line of the pump came off I'm not sure how it was still getting 10 psi... maybe it was sitting on top of the outlet still. This kinda makes me want to double check mine, but I'm guessing we just forgot to / couldn't tighten that one enough.

I'm sure Derek will chime in more when he gets back from a test drive

yeah, chalk this one up to installer error I suppose.

can I still blame the a-hole that rear-ended me 15 minutes prior?
