UICP sound ?

Just Installed a nice Nisei 1pc Flat black.

When I accelerate, the normal turbo sound ( spooling ) form 2000 to 4000 is still there ( got an cone filter )

but then after 4000 RPM , a balloon sound ( when you have a birthday balloon and you let go the air streching the exit to make a high pitch sound )

and Its really loud ...

I retight up the T-clam and they really look ok, but it still does the same

Is it a normal sound ( I hope not cuz it sucks ) or I really need to tighten up those again ...

???

Not normal, has to be leaking from somewhere is my guess. Double check all connections.

Do you have a boost gauge, is it reading the same as before. If everything checks out then it could be your turbo going bad.

Sounds like when I had a nasty leak where the UICP connects to the intercooler, double check everything! I had to switch out those terrible clamps for T-bolts and the sound went away

It's definitely a leak... I just installed mine last night and I got the same "balloon" sound.

I ended up having to re-tighten the T-bolt clamps by A-LOT. I was concerned that I would bend the pipes but it didn't happen and the sound went away.

My best mod so far!!

Sorry to bump a kind of old thread, but it is relavent.

I installed the DC Sports UICP for EVO X / 09+ RA
I went around the block, the Turbo sounds was LOUD. I knew something was not right.
Re-installed, tightened the couplings, and clamps, very tight. The piping should not move at all when it installed, very little give.
The sound is just a tad louder than stock. Turbo spool is somehwat quicker.

Good buy in my opinion for the money.
Note:
The DC Sports UICP Kit includes couplings for EVOX and 09+ RA. fits both intercoolers.
