I think the most popular brands that people use on this board are AMS, ETS, and Perrin. AMS, and ETS products seem to have the best rep on this board.

Just to correct what was posted here,

we have an EVO X intercooler application, but it is NOT a garrett core. It is a specific core manufactured for us by FCP... Garrett did not have a core available that we felt was a good fit for the evolution X platform, in regards to width, thickness and height.

if you would like any information feel free to PM me!

Which is the "Best" intercooler? I don't think that question has an answer.

A better question is: What is the best intercooler for XXX turbo?
I think that intercooler-turbo combination should be a matched pair.

I think some obvious questions are not being asked.

Is the ARC intake pipe your only mod? (only asking because your a newbie)

What turbo do you plan to use?

What are your goals?

Newbie..yes...so def a fair question. I current have the ARC intake pipe and suction box with a Tanabe Concept G cat back, down pipe, and test pipe. (I did not like the tips on the blue, thus did it this way).
I do plan on installing a meth kit here soon.
As for what turbo...that is a great question. I honestly have not gotten to that part of the build, but quickly learning maybe I should.
End goal is I think I want around 500 whp on pump gas...or is that crazy talk? I know I will need to upgrade my injectors along with this goal. But the upgrade turbo is a beast I have not tackled yet.
I guess currently I am going off the AMS stages and the only thing I am missing to complete the stage 2 is an intercooler t get close to 400 whp.

We have a few options to choose from depending on your power goals.

Here are the test results on a stock turbo with no tuning.

3.0" = 17whp over stock
3.5" = 20whp over stock
4.0" = 22whp over stock

* Please note this was with no tuning just bolting the intercooler on. The intercooler is designed to keep the temps down and the power and tune consistent. The core we use is the same core thats on our 9 sec shop evolution X. The core has been proven and the 4.0" is also a direct fit behind the bumper beam with no trimming and the stock under tray will also bolt back on

The core is designed for both the Street/Road Racer and the Drag Racer and allows good air flow to the radiator.

We have the core sepearte or in a complete kit.

Standard Finish

Anodized Black Finish (Gold, Red, Black and Blue Available)

Complete Kit: http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/p...duct_info.html

Intercooler Only: http://www.extremeturbosystems.com/p...duct_info.html

Here is a little video w/ our 9 sec pass

If you have any questions, let me know!

Thanks,

Michael

So I am assuming that with a tune it should be at least the same results?

I was just about to ask similar question but luckily I've found ths thread!

In my country everybody says that there is no point to change the IC for a DD.
And I mean everybody.
However I am in possesion of ETS 3.5" intercooler which originally was intented to go with FP Red.
I will stay with the stock turbo with BC 272, turbo-back, inlet, UICP.

Question: will ETS 3.5" IC definitely give me some extra power comparing to the stock IC?
I'd already decided to sell my 3,5" IC, however it is not too late yet - I am just torn between two different opinions (USA vs PL).

Keep it for sure! The best proof you can have is back to back logging showing cooler MAT temps with the aftermarket FMIC plus less pressure drop than stock.
