Lightened Crank Pulley Evo X

I was reviewing some older threads about lightened crank pulleys etc,
I noticed that most of the info is a couple of years old. I ordered a crank pulley from Agency Power and I hope to install it soon. Is there any new info on these mods.
When you read the old posts it becomes apparent that there is a very big difference of opinions on this subject.
If anyone has any info on this subject please tell us about the manufacturer, and evo model it was fitted on.

I drive an evo 8 but my car had a perrin crank pullley when I bought it. I had some driveability issues that went away as soon as I swapped in a stock pulley back in. I am glad I didnt actually have to buy one of these to find out the hard way that they suck. Leave the stock one it, if anything I think you should look into a fluidamper pulley.

Well I finally installed the AP crank pulley on my sst and there is dfntly a positive effect on the car. It seemed to become more apparent after a couple of drives.
Like most ppl have said it does make the car engine feel "freer" and more athletic. There may be HP gains, but probably not more than 10whp at the most. I dont have access to a dyno.
Since my car is stock it still has that annoying torque re-stricter which may hamper the full potential of this mod. After installing it on my car I do believe it is worth it, even though i could have bought a descent panel filter for $20 less. Its possible that the full potential of this mod may be felt after a tune (not sure).
Also, the car doesn't seem as bogged down when the AC is on.
I know how strong a "placebo" effect can be, but before this mod the car dfntly didnt feel as good as it does now.

Interesting observations ramsey. I had one on my STI and felt is was well worth it. But yeah, there are loads of for & against with this mod. In either case there are a number of better first time mods.

I removed the crank pulley today. After about 2 months I began noticing strange vibrations especially when the revs were dropping from 5k down. Even when the car was idling there was a noticeable vibration in the steering wheel.
I opened the hood and noticed the containers with the coolant etc were vibrating a lot.
Now that its removed all the vibrations are gone. When you look at the stock CP you realize that maybe you shouldnt mess with it It feels very balanced and has rubber inside between the metal.
I do believe that the car was quicker and and spooled up a bit faster, but I couldn't keep it on because of the vibrations. I read many threads about this mod from VW to Nissan. I noticed that one person who owned a passat had exaclty the same issues as me. I cant generalize about all Crank Pulleys, but the one I got from Agency Power wasn't a good buy. I should have invested it in a turbo inlet or intake and I should have done more research. I liked the idea of having a mod that isnt visible to the dealership guys.
One thing I should mention is that I didnt feel the vibrations until a little while after I put in a Raliart Panel Filter and had my 40K(Km) service.
Anyway, next mod will be a turbo inlet followed by some German exhaust (fox).

I would not run any crank pulley that did not have a harmonic balancer, particularly on a stock shortblock. If you have a balanced rotating assembly, I would consider it, but even then I would still probably rather have something like a Fluidampr.
