Welcome to the land of sports cars. First and second gear whine is 100% normal because they are spur gears..These cars make all sorts of fun noises lol.

My car has done it since day 1 of ownership (15k miles) , now 40k. I know its not a X but I believe we share alot in common with our transmissions.

you think it's making weird noises at 2000 miles? you got another thing coming at 5000 and beyond

Don't worry it's just the nature of the car.

That being said, the Evo X is also not made from a fully automated factory like many other Japanese cars. I read a review on the Evo X manufacturing in a magazine and there were guys transporting Evo X engine parts in bicycles between factory locations!!

That being said the guys who work on Evo X's were enthusiasts and passionate about Evo's... most of them (well the ones interviewed) owned at least one Evo.
