Evo X Dump pipe limit
Evo X Dump pipe limit
Hi All,
What is everyone's experience with stock dump pipes and when it starts to limit power?
Changing from a X MR stock turbo on pump (equiv to 93 octane) making 300whp (DD CF1.0) on ~25psi tapering to 20psi then no other changes except an FP Green 73HTA and the car made ~310whp on same boost. So obviously there is a restriction somewhere.
The airbox and filter was removed for a test dyno run and there was ~1hp gain, so it doesn't look to be a restriction.
The car has
3" TBE
High Flow Cat
Ralliart Panel Filter
Walbro intank pump
800cc injectors
3 port boost solenoid.

Other cars on the same dyno with similar mods have made ~365whp the only difference being a dump pipe.
Therefore it seems obvious the dump is an issue.
Curious to hear other peoples experience.
