Hairspray for leaks?

I have seen quite a few people talk about this... how exactly do you do this? Spray it on the part and then put it into the coupler? Or just spray around the area that has already been clamped? Does it get hot and like turn to glue or what? Which brand do you use and does it really work?

Use this:

Or what ever your local store has for cheap.

Spray the parts, outside of the pipes, inside of the connectors. Then fit them together. Its pretty hard to screw up.

Next time search though, I know this has been covered multiple times.

has anyone else here done this? Work pretty well? Also... does anyone who uses t-clamps use thread locker on them? I gain A LOT of power tightening down my t-clamps while I was getting tuned... I will share when I get finished how much, but it's a very high amount for my set-up.
