service required light

so i was driving earlier today and my service required light came on and the tarmac display went away, i shut off the car for a few minutes and it happened again. it has happened a few times now and i don't have time to take it to the dealership. anyone have any clue of what the problem could be?

You probably just need an oil change.

Does it come on as you are driving or just when you start the car?

you can set this to come on at certain miles or months for oil changes. if you have the owners manual how to reset it is there as well as setting it up to be a reminder. if you are really worried I would go to the dealer.

does your car display a " *** Error" message just before "service required" ?

If it is your service warning read the manual, it tells you how to reset it. I'm not using the dealer for service so I do that regularly.

just reset it.

with the key out of the ignition or with the key in and turned to "off" position, scroll to the service reminder, then hold the info button down for 3 seconds until it beeps and blinks then push the info button again and it will clear.
