Short shifter info-No Im not ask which to purchase

So I called a vendor to purchase a TWM short shift because I heard they are great and its something cheap I can do while I keep ordering motor parts that wont go in for months. The vendor stated that they didnt reccomend a short shift because they heard of it messing up syncros.

Has anyone seen this?

Nope.. Ive never heard of that ever happening on a X.

I've had my TWM for over a year and have not had any problems.

Have TWM here also, no issues. Also have base bushings and under hood bushings also. Love the difference. Just go to TWM and order.

Here's a write-up I did, might help a bit: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/se...t-shifter.html

I think a quality short-shifter is a great thing to buy and I have zero regrets in getting one for my IX or now my X. My wife also has one in her WRX.

have an agency power... VERY short throw, love it, haven't had an issue thus far, shift when you are supposed to and you won't have an issue with them... force the car into gear and yeah, you might have a problem.

That's a very old school misconception about short shifters. We've been selling them for 10 years now and never had a single syncro issue related to short shifters. You can install one in your Evo and rest assured that you will not have trouble with it. Just keep using the clutch correctly and the transmission will be all fine!
