fuel mods

Hello just wanted to ask you guys some questions about e-85 fuel. If i run 800cc injectors 1 bar of boost can i get away with a stock evo fuel pump or should i upgrade to a walbro 255. If i need the walbro can somebody recommend a install kit so i dont have to chop up my stock unit.

On an Evo you'd normally want 1000cc injectors and a 255 but in your case you should be fine. If you do want a 255 then Cobb Tuning has a nice kit.

I'm not sure how useful E85 is going to be at 1 bar. We'd normally run 30psi on a stock turbo Evo. I suppose you can throw a lot of timing at it.

Check the evo X engine management section. The factory evo pump can give off some of the filter residue with e85 and one line can break down. I'd assume the lancer pump is similar.

Not sure what tuning looks like on the 4b11 non turbo, but running 30psi as suggested above might not be the best idea if the rods/pistons/block are not up to it.

All that said, I'd think 900cc injectors should be fine at 1 bar, but it depends what turbo you are running (pressure != airflow).

Not sure why you'd only run 1 bar of boost, if that's all you were planning I'm willing to bet the stock injectors and pump would be up to the task.

Otherwise, DW800/850cc injectors are capable of supporting E85 with the stock turbo and real boost levels. You might be able to get away with keeping the stock pump but if you'd rather just get your mods done them Cobb sells a Walbro 255 + install kit for $150.
