Asking the Experts: DP+stock ExSystem + more

I would like to know if this makes sense if anybody has done it and what gains did u get:

- Stock Exhaust system with an aftermarket down pipe and a test pipe (or high-flow cat)?

I thinking of getting the ETS Mitsubishi Evolution X Recirculated O2 Eliminator Down pipe and test pipe bolted to the stock exhaust system...

Does this make sense at all?
The reason is instead of spending 1600, - for a turbo back system this would cost me about $750, - and I would keep the stock exhaust look.

Thx
Siyah

Over all it doesnt make sense. Youre gonna have a huge bottle neck when you reach the stock exhaust system. Too much back pressure to even be useful. Better off getting a cat back.

mrMTB is running a similar setup with good results, he's posted his data in the X stock turbo dyno results thread.

Sure it does. My car isn't any louder then stock yet it's producing 160 whp more then stock and over 400hp.

I run a 02 Downpipe + mini muffler test pipe with stock OEM midpipe and catback.

The Ralliart catback even has a little pressed part by the diff that the Evo does not have that makes it even smaller ID then the Evo OEM catback.

The stock exhaust elbow coming off the turbo is a huge bottleneck. Going to a nice aftermarket O2/downpipe combo (AMS widemouth, etc. etc.) will free up a lot of power, even with the stock exhaust. It'll really improve spoolup too. And it'll still be quiet
