Blow off valve upgrade

Yes I am trying to upgrade my blow off valve for my Evo x because it is rated at 400hp for the stock one. I want to upgrade to a good sounding blow off valve that will not kill the performance. According to other evo owners the evo x is picky on the blow off valve and only likes the stock one. Does anyone know of any aftermarket blow off valve that I can switch to to handle over 400hp and 25psi.

Thanks for the input..Sideway are you having the same hesitation around 2000 rps like the stock BOV? I will look into the cobb and the HKS...I was originally going to go with the HKS but was warned against it

I found the HKS SSQV3 for $195. Wish I had found this site before I bought my Turbosmart BOV...

I was told that the stock BOV works pretty good unless you start hitting higher HP goals.

BOV valve is about boost not really about hp. You can have less boost in the higher hp car vs the lower hp car with higher boost. So you might be good with stock BOV on the higher hp car , but you need upgrade with a higher boosted lower hp car.
My car is a perfect example for that.

25psi does not require you to upgrade your stock BOV at all. I ran 33psi on the stock one without issues.

And rob is right, horsepower has nothing to do with your bov, its all about the pressure.

You could give your stock one a slight crush, but at 25psi you shouldn't need to.

Otherwise many of the X guys run the synapse bov or their new diverter valve with great success.

Have you "crushed" the stocker to hold more boost? Just to save money IMHO...

You cant crush the evo x BOV from what I was told. According to my shop I am running 24psi and the BOV is recommended to be replaced cause it cant handle the pressure.

Umm, yes you can crush the stock one...get a new shop if they say you can't.

And the stock one even un-crushed is probably fine at 24psi.

They just want more money out of you. Yes you can crush the evo x bov. Search the threads for it, there are nice pictures of how to do it
