I think MAP offers a lifetime warranty against cracking on their in-house fabricated parts. ETS might too. Even if they don't in writing, I have no doubt either of these companies would get you taken care of in the event of a failure.

Now that I got my AMS in to replace my UR unit, I see why AMS is so proud of their product. The thing is substantial, as thick casting as the stocker o2 housing. I can't imagine ANY chance of failure with this much metal. Wow, it's a heavy thick sturdy piece of hardware. No wonder AMS is the choice for daily racers, I'll never worry about this thing failing while out on the track, no way.

(But I'm going back on my word and plans -- I've scheduled time at a tuner shop for $75/hr to have him install it for me, guessing 3 hours give or take since he's more confident bolts will come off -- again)

Just brought an AMS widemouth from AMS yesturday. Will have a performance shop install for me. Glad to hear it is as good as it looks. I now need to figure out which highflow CAT to install between the Widemouth and my ETS V@ CATback. Any suggestions?

I'm running the UR metal HFC, I think 140 cell count, low and not much bp.

But then again, I blew my UR DP apart -- get a testpipe perhaps but mod the OEM CC for easy installs for the periodic emission test. Driving with a wide WIDE OPEN exhaust at the track with the blown DP gave me nearly 10mph on the straight on the track, 5th gear is not my (untuned) beasts favorite gear, and it's got me pondering buying a TP for the periodic track weekends for that extra "umph".

First impression - loss of power compared to Ultimate Racing DP

So I loved the quality and reputation of the AMS. Bought mine without the tears and pain my first o2/DP from Ultimate Racing put me through in terms of what exhaust mods did I want, and then who to buy them from. Since I had the ETS on order, I wanted the TBE that was good but not expensive. The UR was purchased before AMS even sold one.

Comparing the UR to the AMS had to be inevitable. Heck, I had the UR on for 2 1/2 years, 50,000 miles and plenty and plenty of track time, not to mention 6 1/4 mile run slips.

The UR used to be very throaty, noisy and prone to backfire "POP" noises. At idle, it was a child begging for attention with how noisy it was.

The AMS is not throaty except under WOT, backfires are few and far between, and at idle, it's really not any noisier than I'd expect with the OEM DP and O2 housing.

With a slight loss of power but more 'design' compliant exhaust flow with stock, I suppose it's time I ponder a tune to get my power back up.

YMMV.

Wish I had dyno graphs of the three DP setups I've run.

1 - stock
2 - UR O2/DP and UR HFC/ETS V1 CBE
3 - AMS O2/DP and UR HFC/ETS V1 CBE

Stock is stock. Got slips of 14.001, 97.5mph.

#2 had GREAT pissing/farting and noticable improvement in torque everywhere, noticable at lower RPM's though enjoyably. Have slips of 13.3 and 104.9mph

(Note times vary but trap speed at 1/4 mile are extraordinarily consistent.)

#3 is TBD, but I can perceive a bit of a power loss compared to #2 setup, but not stock-stock slow. I'm sure the CBE and HFC have a lasting consistent contribution of the power gain, but I'm not sure at all that the AMS O2/DP is still a contributor. So as I go through winter, I'll be mulling over that long-delayed tune.
