Clogged fuel strainer with E85

I think it's fuel quality too. I saw your thread and said well, if he did it for 3 years.......

I never had a problem until I filled up at this one e85 station in an emergency.
Maybe it was crap at the pump... Oh well....

i see..if you don't mind me asking, what is the station where you got that e85? sometimes if we do long drives to NY, we fill up e85s there too..

bryan@GST posted this awhile back. you need E85 safe hoses and sock filter. OEM ones melt in E85. just an fyi.

if not, or if you changed the OEM stuff inside, what are the parts that you changed? just want to know. Thanks.

Thanks for the link, but all my fuel lines have been replaced with e85 safe including the intank fuel lines.

I usually fill up in Spring valley,Ny. and middletown,ny.

But I have used the southfields station and the one on the sloatsburg thruway north also.

E85 quality varies widely, it all depends what sort of crap gasoline the blenders are using to make it. Also, it doesn't contain detergents and additives like pump gasolines do.
