It's just the turbxs test pipe.. Not resonated and no muffler. I installed it with the hope that the increased sound would be enough with the oem exhaust, but I barely noticed a difference

I actually did the muffler swap myself. I was unhappy with the quietness of the magnaflow catback. I'm getting old and its a daily driver so my tolerances are lower than past years. So I stuffed a tshirt in the right outlet and forced the exhaust to only exit the left outlet. It made a huge difference so I decided to use a single outlet offset magnaflow muffler as you described.

I went from an 18" body to a 24" muffler too. This was a win win situation for me because not only was it much quieter but it is now a real 3" straight thru muffler. The dual outlet actually steps down in the muffler body to two 2.5" outlets.

It sounds like you want to replicate the old AMS dual outlet racing exhaust. see post #11 https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/au...ting-list.html

If you can't find a used one of these you may want to fab something like Vorshlag did. See link below and find the update on 1.13.2009

If what you want is a combination of a quiet exhaust for the DD and a straight through exhaust for the track, i suggest you take a look at the ETS. The rear section is changeable in minutes and they offer both a quiet and a straight through rear section. Might be a bit pricey, but I think it would be what youre asking for.

Iowa999: Are you driving with a cat or catless and are you permitted by race rules to run catless? Seems to me running without the cat on the track will make a bigger difference in HP/ torque than bypassing the muffler. I do recall some tuners advocating having a map for when you drive with a cat and one when you're catless because running catless on a map developed for an exhaust with a cat could result in a boost spike.

Must have a cat within 6" of the original for SCCA stuff.
