Imo, think it would be wise to get a custom tune asap.. and drive it easy until then, just to be safe.
Yeah that's what I thought. They pulled some tricky moves there but it all worked out in the end.

I'm looking into getting a tune within the next few weeks. Just need to find a good place. Not trying to travel too far but might have too if I want a reputable tuning shop for Evo Xs.

Your best bet is to drive up to CBRD in eastern PA, as everyone speaks very highly of them.

Otherwise, there's Atlantic Motorsports over in Maryland or Spec Ops in North Carolina.

Yeah I've heard nothing but great things about CBRD. I'll probably be going to Atlantic motorsports because they're close and I know some people who have gone there and say nothing but good things. Thanks for the references

No prob

I'd still consider them, since they're only a 2 hour drive from Arlington.. I live around 4 hours from CBRD, and plan on making an appointment and driving there for a tune (and maybe to have some light mods installed).

Unfortunately, my plans are to wait at least until my 3-year warranty expires.. which is still 1 year away. Was gonna wait for the drivetrain warranty to go, but that's still another 3 years from now.. I'd go crazy waiting

Not to thread hijack, but if Chad pops back in.. can you guys tune on a Cobb AP or do anything mild/safe that would fly under the radar so to speak? Thanks!

Thanks for the mention, we would be glad to help you out as well... If not no harm no foul, you can't go wrong with CBRD! We have experience with both Cobb and Opensource

CBRD and Spec-Ops thanks for the posts and offering your services. CBRD, your definitely still in consideration since your only a little over 2 hours from my house and have such experience with Evo 10s.

Not Ours. It's a Garrett 18" wide core, so it's Ultimate Racing or Buschur, we use a 20" wide core.

Best of luck man!

Happy Holidays.

Yea if I were you I would stay off boost until the Evo is tuned. There are too many parts that are installed that should only be installed right before a tune.
