x RPM = ? mph (4th gear) GSR

I remember seeing a chart or something about a year ago that listed mph at 100rpm increments starting at 7500rpms (4th gear). Ive been searching for it but can not find it. Anyone know where it is hiding? Basically just to know how far to rev out 4th to reach certain mphs.

Gears 1-4 are almost exactly the same as my '83 GTI

3000rpm = (gear number)5mph

1st: 15mph
2nd: 25mph
3rd: 35mph
4th: 45mph

8000rpm in 4th gear is about 120mph...seen it over and over at the track and it's my 'whoah way too fast for the street!' marker

that's close to the one im thinking of but not it. I believe it went up to 8500. I'm more concerned with the mph at x rpm above 8k in 4th. anyone know what it is at 8.5k?

If I'm not mistaken, you can just drive in 4th at 4k RPM and double that should be your MPH at 8k RPM (or drive at 3k and multiply by 3 to get MPH at 9k RPM).

Anyway, if you happen to find the correct chart, please post it up for us

9k in 4th is around 134 I believe depending on your tire height and what not. +/- 2MPH.

This is from memory as I have asked this before too, if anything I think its higher.

+1. I just checked yesterday (@ 1/3 speed, of course).

At 3k RPM I was doing 45MPH.. x3 = 135MPH @ 9k RPM (stock wheel & tire size)
