Unheard of trans issue. Please help.

I just bought a brand new '11 evo, it has 1500 miles on it and I have to have the trans rebuilt. The reason they told me is that my sincro's are swollen. I asked what that was because I have never heard that and they told me they did not know either, they have never seen it before. The only thing they said was heat was probably a factor. If anyone has had this issue or knows what could have possibly caused this issue please post.

Why did you bring it to the shop in the first place. How about some symptoms?

The issue I was having was 3rd and 4th gear were sticky feeling. it was hard to find neutral in third and forth. All I do is highway driving I literally bought the car 3 weeks ago and am having issues already.

It's a GSR, and yes they are.
