5th gear is fine at 45-50mph as long as you're just giving it light throttle. obviously you couldn't do this uphill. I probably wouldn't go above 5psi or so either...downshift into 4th at that point

my motor blew in 5th gear when i was cruising at about 65mph. it blew when i was going slighty uphill. I had a tune hfc and 3-port grimmspeed. The tune had a max of 27.5psi even that seemed to be too high for stock turbo. I am now back to stock and back up and running, and I always downshift now when I need to accelerate on the highway.

Stupid question. but accelerating as in start off cruising in 5th gear ~45-50 then decide to just WOT without downshifting ? Or start off ~45-50 mph and gradually accelerate without downshifting?
