E85 EF3/FP Red on Stock Block

So my situation is I don't really want to go through the expense and especially hassle of building my motor (it's my only car). I live in a 91 state, but have E85 available for the time being at least. I'd like to run E85 right now, but I'd also like to have a turbo that's big enough to be nice and fun on 91 if my E85 source ever becomes too inconvenient.

I'm sure the middle stock frame turbos would be safe on 91, but what's the consensus on E85? I'm not finding a lot of dyno sheets for them on E85.

Also how much torque are X stock clutches generally good for?

A EF3/Red on E85 will be more than capable of ventilating your stock block so tune with caution.

I personally have an EF2 on 93 pump and it runs like a champ; so far so good on the stock clutch too [knock on wood].

oh alright, so yeah like kracka is saying, for a dd and if you are careful the stock clutch will do it, other than that if you even set foot on the track consider an upgrade.

I'll honestly say, I'm not being careful to preserve the stock clutch; I don't launch the car, but that's really my only precaution. My shifter setup allows me to snap off incredibly fast shifts so that can't be helping it any One of the most important things you can do though is remove your stock clutch restrictor pill inside the slave cylinder ASAP though; I took mine out around 3k miles.

IMHO go EF2 and stock longblock and E85. If you go with the EF3 just keep it conservative and don't drive it like you stole it and you'll be fine

I think the EF3 would actually be more stock block friendly as long as you don't plan to max out the turbo. slower spool = less torque at low rpm's = happy block

kracka my cars going into the shop saturday ive got full boltons from ams fullrace manifold, id 1000ccs and MAPS EF3 turbo antisurge, ported, coated no cams though and a stock clutch.. what would you estimate i would make on a mustang dyno on 93 with those mods? .. also the tuner said i would still be good on my stock pump because of the injectors

I think you are playing with fire to run E85 with any of those turbos with the stock rods. I was at the TQ limit with my stock turbo on E85.
