Advice for my build

It's been a while since I've created a thread. Currently on an FP Green on E85 @ 450 whp, with maxed out ID 1000 cc injectors. Definitely looking to make more power out of the car. I'm thinking about going with AMS's 900XP turbo kit. I'm thinking I want to almost max out the turbo, not all the way though don't want to push it too far. Here's my mod list, just wondering if there's anything I'm overlooking. Also, I'm not sure what I'm going to do fuel pump wise, currently on a DW 300+ but I know that won't cut it.

Mods:

Built engine (AMS spec pistions, Manley turbo tuff I beams, AMS Main studs, arp head studs, ams cams w/ kelford valve springs), stock bottom end, block, and head

Exedy Tripple disk clutch
Shep rebuilt trans and transfer case
Cusco 1.5 Way rear diff (ordered, not installed)
ID 2000 cc injectors (not installed yet)
AMS intercooler and piping w/ tial Qr bov
Akrapovic down pipe back exhaust
AMS fuel rail

I think those are all the power mods. Looking for input if there's anything I missed in preparing for this or what to do about my fuel pump.

Car isn't my DD, but is driven a lot still. Oil is changed every 3k and the other fluids are changed every 9k.

And a recent pic of the car before winter:

Thanks everyone!

450 on what dyno? DW300 isn't going to cut it no matter what you do on e85. You'll need a lot more fuel pump for the 900x kit, probably a double-pump kit? I'm I saw fuel system gains going from the 300 to the walbro 400 but I also run a boost-a-pump. On my EF4 on E70 I'm maxing the system out at 31psi.

On AMS's mustang dyno. I was thinking a double pump kit and maybe running two DW 300s since I already have one. Just not too sure which double pump setup most people are using. What is a boost-a-pump? Thanks

boost-a-pump turns up the voltage on a pump from 14 to 17.5V, basically overclocking it.

Your build looks to be comparable to mine. Obviously you will need to do something about your fuel system, unfortunately I have yet to see a great all around fuel system for the Evo X. That is one that doesn't have some type of a major hindrance in my eyes. I have a CBRD 33rb turbo kit, ID 2000s, boomba fuel rail, KB BAP, Aeromotive 340lph, and fuel lap FPR. My car should be getting tuned this week, I'll let you know how my current set up keeps up with e85.

If you haven't done anything yet for your fuel setup, my advice would be a surge tank honestly. Use probably 1 255 to fill the surge tank and then a bigger weldon to feed the rail. That would be my suggestion. I have a double pumper with a progressive controller for my second pump. I am converting it to just a hobbs switch soon.

So if you do go double pumper, I'd say just keep it simple and do 255's or 2 OEM fuel pumps (effective setup) and have the 2nd turned on by a hobbs switch. 2 DW300's is prolly overkill.

Thanks! Good luck, I can't wait to hear how it went.

I talked with AMS and I think I'm going to have them make me a double pump setup when I go to get tuned since I'm not road racing so a surge may be making things overly complicated. Thanks for the advice everyone!

murlo, what's the difference between a hobbs and progressive controller?

Hobbs switch is a simple on/off switch based on psi. The progressive controller ramps the second pump on over time, similar or really the same as a progressive controller for a meth pump. The idea is the progressive prevents a sudden burst of pressure that makes things harder to tune. But in reality its not a big deal at all really.

Just ordered my 900x kit. AMS is going to setup a double pump system for me when I go to get tuned using a Hobbs switch and a second walbro 255 pump. The middle of may can't come soon enough!!
