Ultimate Racing Downpipe issue

So after talking to Ultimate racing during today's build we confirmed that the downpipe requires the OEM gasket. The pictures here are the same ones we sent them. They responded with this;

Jamie,

Ok, I was under the assumption you were referring to something else.
The cutouts for both the turbo and wastegate outlet are purposely cut
large to maximize the flow capability. What you have is correct, and
was built to avoid having to create a reducer "step" in the piping where
it attaches at flange. The outlets of the turbo and wastegate are much
smaller in comparison so there will be no problems.

This is how the OEM gasket fits... Just wanted everyone who's interested in purchasing the Long downpipe for the evo x to see what you'll have to deal with.

Thanks.

While it still is better than the stock d/p, it shows just a bit of laziness on their part. Is that a MLM gasket or a single layer?

I'm not sure what the problem is. Yes it overlaps but the outlets of the turbo are much smaller so it's not like the gasket will stick out and cause turbulence in flow....

But why make a down pipe with a bigger pipe than the outlet if it's made to be used with stock framed turbos.

It will still cause turbulence because it has to step down, while it's not as much, it will still cause a disruption in flow.

I have this DP on my X. I love it, picked up 10whp at Dyno4mance on the stock turbo.

I see the gasket barely overlaps inside of their flange, I would trim that sucker and throw it on there. I've seen things a lot worse.
