Exhaust help!!

So I just wasted the last 5 hours trying to install an CNT v3 exhaust, and for the life of me I cannot get the midpipe flange to mate up to the CAT flange. It seems as though one of the bolt holes is about 1/8in off and its causing the bolt to try to go in at an angle. Now it seems one of the welded on nuts that is attached to the CAT is striped and I can't get the bolt on there at all now. And yes I do have the mid-pipe oriented correctly.

What are my options??

i have the same exhaust.

if you can post a pic of what is not lining up , maybe i can figure out what is wrong.

you may want to start by grinding off the welded nuts

and use some new nuts and bolts

Hey your there go ahead and get your. Self a test pipe or HFC. For the $100 for a test pipe that's going to be the biggest gain over the exhaust for sound and performance.

working from front to back on exhausts is always helpful to an extent.

if the stock bolts are stripped, they need to be removed. either knock them out of the cat and get a set of nuts+bolts or get a HFC or test pipe.

^^^ This. You are going to have to use a nut and bolt.

I had a little bit of trouble, along the same lines, when I installed my ETS CBE. After getting the cat heat shield outta the way, i had trouble getting both bolts started in their threads, at the same time. One or the other would go in ok, but not at the same time. I took some compressed air and pb and cleaned the hell out of the threads. That seems to have helped. I dont wanna say I forced it in but its just that first hurdle of getting the thread lined up correctly and then it buttoned right up. GL!

I would say grab a HFC or TP, mosdef. Not too expensive and it will make the install easier. Then you get to worry about connecting the down-pipe to the new piece!
