Corsa Exhaust System GSR
After weeks of delay i finally have the time to upload the videos and submit my full review. So without further delay....Here is a full install and review of the Corsa Exhaust system for the Evo X
First, the install. I have never installed an exhaust before but this was a piece of cake. Me and my dad set aside 5 hours to get the job done. We started at 9am and ended up finishing at 11. It definitely helps to have an extra set of hands while installing the exhaust but i wouldn't say its necessary. The pipe looks great underneath the car although I'm not sure how long that will last with this northeast weather. The flanges used feel nice and sturdy. The spring bolts are no longer needed thanks to the flanges. I did not notice any rubbing of any kind after we installed it and it barely budged when i tried to wiggle it. All in all this was a very simple, satisfying install. Here are some of the pictures, if you'd like to see anything specific let me know and ill go snap a picture or two for you.
^^Muffler comparison^^
^^Old Midpipe to Cat connection^^
^^Corsa Midpipe to Cat connection^^
^^Old Spring bolt connection to muffler^^
^^Corsa Flange connection to muffler^^
^^Corsa does not require midpipe spring bolt^^
^^Hangers off....^^
^^Hangers on...^^
^^Flange up close + resonator^^
And here is the video:
the setup i used was a go pro hero4 with an external Panasonic mic. I had the go pro (for the most part) clipped inside the cabin of the car with the microphone placed in between the exhaust tips at the back just like this (
) I used a windscreen to try and reduce some of the wind noise as well. The last part of the video was just the gopro mic being used.
Overall i am VERY happy with the exhaust. It has a nice low growl but is not deafening while driving around town. Every single time i start her up i have a smile on my face. WOT produces a nice sound as well. If anyone is thinking of putting this on a stock Evo id recommend it without a doubt in my mind. I think its one of the best sounding exhausts out there. Its not ricey at all and its not all in-your-face like some of these fart cans are. I feel like I'm driving a new car sometimes just because of that beautiful sound it makes. 10/10 would recommend.
Come April i plan on installing a testpipe, EBC, and ill be getting a tune so i will update on the sound difference.

I have the Corsa too! I pretty much agree with what you said, I've had mine for about 6 months after its broken in it does quiet down a bit. Still sounds great though. I'm about to add a downpipe and high flow cat, hoping it will give a little bit more noise to it. I think this exhaust system would sound great regardless of how loud it gets because it just always has that lower grumble. I'm toying with the idea of a custom fab y-pipe to really bring out the decibels. But keep us updated on how you like yours going forward. Not enough people with this system so I always like to bump the threads with some kind words for Corsa
