Clutch suggestions?

Well long story short...the guys at Ivey told me my stock clutch (73,000 +miles) started to slip on the dyno while finally getting tuned. I have an AMS downpipe, Greddy Catback exhaust, Milspec hiflo cat, works drop in, AMS UICP installed...with Ivey tune. My car is a daily driver, won't be used for drag/track/racing.....

What type of aftermarket clutch would you guys suggest?

I have to pick up the car in the AM...i don't know what type of power my car made until then...

Thanks for any feedback

If you want a smooth shifting clutch and last longer but still hold on I'd go with exedy OEM clutch, cheap and works great for DD.

This is purely based on the fact that you aren't doing any type of racing

act street disk, with turned stocker flywheel. you'll be good for most anything. the streetlite flywheel is either engaged or not engaged. i have it and still stall once in a while especially on hills.

Remove your clutch restrictor pill, and considering your stock clutch lasted that long I'd recommend either getting another one or doing a basic upgrade like the Exedy Stage 1. Have your stock flywheel turned and reuse it.

Since your already there, I recommend getting the act hdss. Other clutches have been known to blow our POS plastic cmc.

If you upgrade higher than an exeddy stage one, you will need to upgrade the CMC too or it will fail not long after.

I've read that quite a few have popped their clutch master cylinder with the Exeddy stage 1.

How about the Spec Stage 1? Reading some good reviews on it for a daily non raced Evo X.

This is what im ordering, i already have the ACT flywheel...

And yes, i was advised to also replace the cmc....and the labor on the cmc is crazy... (counts pennies)

So i think i will baby my clutch another week, then get the cmc and clutch done at the same time....then come back for another dyno run.

NO MORE mods for me until next year lol

Car is at 309whp/303 torque with the bad clutch for now

Yep, I just did mine and it was not a cheap day . I was shocked when I saw the tiny piece of plastic crap that came out.

(Spec 3+ / Findanza 9lb Flywheel / AMS CMS)

Let me know how you like the clutch when you get it done, I'm in the same boat. How much for CMC install?

Anyone done the bandaid approach using the AMS CLUTCH MASTER CYLINDER REINFORCEMENT RING? cheaper approach so long as its still in good shape, donno how well it'd hold up to higher pedal loads though?

I actually ordered this too, but after further reading, i saw some people who cmcs STILL broke.....its just keeps the cmc together when it does break so you can drive your car to a safe place. AMS told me they were out of stock/discontinued on them when i ordered and suggested the new expensive cmc.....and now i know why. I could only find the reinforcement ring through a different vendor. I won't be installing it on my car though....
