Weird ACD problem
Weird ACD problem
Service required lights showed up around 2 months ago, check with my AP and it's showing C161e. Did some research online, seems like my ACD pump is done.
I usually park my car underground, when I start the car in the morning. Service required light shows up about 10-20 seconds of driving. However, if I park my car outside in a cold weather, I don't have any warning even drive for 30+ mins.
eg. weather drop in the last two days, currently temperature is around 5-10c, I am not getting any warning. I am thinking if the fluid thin out, and it can't hold the pressure in hot weather. Is it possible?
I am still trying to figure out what's going on before I bring it to the dealership, since they said it might take them few hours to do the diagnostic. That's like 400-500 dollars.
Hope someone can help

In terms of the stuff that you can check, yourself: fluid, relay, and harness connectors. If you can also check the pressure sensor, that would be nice. That it works better when cold suggests that it's not the pump, itself, which is nice.
There is a relay that is bolted to the pump itself. That relay was recalled about 2 years ago and dealerships should have the updated part.
My ACD pump showed all 3 lights and failed to hold the appropriate PSI or some such thing. Dealership replaced the entire unit under the 100K warranty. (horay Mitsubishi's warranty for 2006 model year cars! (golf clap))
