yes.. time for engine re-built.. I have change all connrod bearing, the loud knocking sound is gone.. the engine sounds normal when idle. But, if I ram to above 2500 rpm.. the slow soft rattling sound came.. so.. new connrod & crankshaft..

I believe ERL is also the builder for the AMS blocks/ crate engines. Heard they are pretty good to work with. They'll be the ones I'll be looking at. Personally will go with a 2.4L with an FP Red when I finally decide. Sorry to here about your issues. Hope everything works out for you.

I have open again the valve cover, we found that the timing chain "jumped" 1 teeth of the gear, so the piston knocking on the valve. job will continue tomorrow, the reset the timing chain & re-tension it. That is the only finding now. Hopefully it is only the problem.. How can the timing chain "jumped"?? that is my question to all gurus out there.. under tension?

And removing the crank pulley without air impact gun is pain is the a**, I have read people wrote, it is almost impossible to do, they're right it is almost impossible, almost.. but it is possible..
Removing the crank pulley without a air gun is easy. Just need the right tools

So after changing those parts do you still hear the "normal" not so loud tac tac that some people say is the injectors ?
