ahem...... I have an FP green... and in compairison to a completely stock turbo.. I love it.. I have the stock boost roll on.. and just under an fp red for top end ( i have cams ) right now i sit untuned for the moment and it still pulls HARD... I personally would have gone with a red.. but i have an MR and itis for street use.. so i like the quick spool of the green. plus it sounds like a jet taking off.. ( seriously )

Is it safe to drive with an upgraded turbo without being tuned for it?

For 450whp pick either ef3/fp red and call it day.. Also there are no differences between 08 and upper year models engine wise besides the timing chain. And if you do have plans to build the block in the future IMO go with a t3 kit, ams 750xp kit is my favorite or the ets t3 twinscroll kit but that cost even more than ams once all the options are said and done.

Ive heard little things here and there about the 2013 gsr models being somewhat difficult to tune. Ive done a little research onto it myself and am seeing different views on that topic. Whats the real facts about that?

Can the fp red be safely put on a stock block plus stock cams and still have long term reliability? I was thinking 25 psi at 10.5 afr

Yes, I do believe so. As long as the tq is below 375. Anyone correct me if im wrong.

Is higher tq safe for higher rpm due to the the tq being divided by more number of combustion cycles? So a stock Evo has about 250 tq at 3500 rpm. Keeping that same ratio, is 500 tq at 7000 rpm no more stress then 250 tq at 3500 rpm?

Incorrect. Torque lessens the higher the engine revs. So 500tq @ 7000rpm means you are hitting about 700tq where it hurts @ 3500-4000rpm.

What if you increased the boost as you increase rpm to keep the tq low in the bottom end

I don't know for sure, but my guess would be you'd have one funky looking power curve.

Increasing boost at any rpm will increase TQ. Boost = more air in the engine, which means more fuel and thus power.
