GS 3 port

Hi, i was wondering if a 3port would be beneficial for a Evo MR 08

I only ask this because boost pill says its better to use that rather then a electronic or manual boost controller

Do you have someone to tune your car? If yes then talk with them to see if they think a 3 port would benefit your setup. A 3 port makes your boost curve easier to manipulate through the rpms.

I've looked into with quite a bit lately, the final resault will be the same. So just ask your tuner what he prefers.

3port ebcs can make u reach full boost faster than mbc or boost pill. At least, it does on mine.

^This is what I thought too but I asked two of the most reputable tuners on this forum and they both say the end resault will be the same.

Maybe in certain situations there is an advantage..?

Earlier spool means better power range. Ibstead of starting at 3800, ur at full boost at 3k. Thats 800rpm more of powerband that is useful on road courses. When they say end results would be the same, thats true, coz if ur just going for peak power, it will still give u the same peak. No matter if u use stock bcs or 3port bcs.

Me, I like getting more powerband since its mostly dd, but it is a weekend warrior.

I agree that 800 RPM is huge in terms of power band, I'm not really a peak horse power guy I would prefer a boarder power band as it makes a much more use able car overall.

With a modified boost pill I hit full boost at 3350rpm and at that time I only had a HFC and intake on my car when Baka tuned me. I'm going to get retuned here pretty soon as I have a TBE and intercooler now. Would be interesting to see if we can hit 3000rpm peak boost, only 350 rpm off...
