Recently I purchased a 08 Evo X and the very first thing i did was replace the clutch master cylinder because it came with a stage 2 clutch and i didn't want to be stranded someplace...anyhow while doing the install i noticed there was a little bit of motor oil in the intake piping...i then looked at the air filter and it also has motor oil on it...why is this happening? This is my first turbo car...i bought the 4 year 48000 mile warranty along with the car....If i bring it to the dealer what should i be aware of? Should i be afraid that they will deny me service for any reasons, the only modifing done to the car by me was the magnus CMC? i heard a lot of people have had bad times at the dealer....
thank you in advance for your response...

If you look at the intake, there is a breather line connected to it from the engine to the intake.
Completely normal. This is why people run catch cans

Wow...Really??? its just a normal thing to have motor oil all over the air filter? I talked to my brother (he is a mechanic) and he said it could have bad turbo seals...the car is not throwing any lights...sometimes the idle jumps around a little too i didn't know if that was part of it...also where can i learn more about these catch cans?? lol Thanks again
also, am i still okay if i don't run a catch can ? if i don't have one is it using up oil?
thanks
thanks

It's normal if it's in the Tube, not all over the filter. I agree with your brother, it sounds like seals are leaking.

Run a catch can for sure as I always recommend for every turbo charged car. A blown seal would have you shooting black smoke out the exhaust. Best way I found out that my turbo on my Genesis was blown is when I would let it idle for a few minutes then go down the road with my girl behind my car she was able to see major amount oil burn off. Does the rear bumper have a ton of build up on it just after driving it normal for one day??
Hope this helps

Boomba is really good from what my subaru buddy says and I have ran AGP on the Genesis for 4 years. Really a catch can is a can as long as you buy a reputable brand so it doesn't collapse. Both of the two are about the same price and I personally made the switch today to Boomba.Originally Posted by bpnovelli
