What am I doing wrong here? dump downpipe fitment issues

EDIT: Username 93gc8jdm sold me a downpipe labeled as ETS brand which it turned out to actually be an Xtremeboost downpipe, which has fitment issues!

So, I got the stock o2 housing off in about 2 hours, which was supposed to be the hard part in all this... then I go to put this used downpipe I bought in and something just doesnt seem right. It didn't want to drop right in and line up easy, seems tight.

I lightly tightened all the turbine housing bolts and this is where I am at.

Notice the two contact areas, the main downpipe is solid up against the heat shield for the hard line, and this is before the flex section, so its not like it just needs to move. Then the dump pipe is hitting up against the power steering line...

notice the bend in the dump tube above (not as shown on ETS site)

SO what did I do wrong or what is up here? I bought the downpipe from this thread: https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...-3-intake.html, and he said he bought it from this guy https://www.evolutionm.net/forums/sa...ket-parts.html

I notice it doesnt look like the current pics on ETS's site, the dump tube isnt straight and the flange did not have the billet machined area on the inner side of the flange, its just a flat flange.

Even if you had the V1 if would still fit properly. Its hard to say if or what you're doing wrong. Take a picture of the top side..

here the o2 bungs are pointed right at the driveshaft, but i think it is just not rotated properly. i think that would be fine if i hooked up the test pipe.

Doesn't look like an ETS, but tough to tell by pictures provided.

I'll try and see if the seller can give me the picture of it from the for sale ad. I'm very picky about this car as its my daily and i dont want anything rubbing or vibrating... i paid a lot for this and it SHOULD fit right.

So now my daily driver has no downpipe, and I can almost gaurantee no one has an ETS downpipe in stock. And the hell if i'm putting that stock o2 housing back on.

Anyone have an ETS downpipe they'd sell, or any vendors have one in stock (doubtful.. but worth a shot)? I'd even settle for a recirc in order to get this thing back on the road so I can get to work. Maybe someone who has one sitting and is waiting to install would be willing to sell me one and i could replace theirs?

thanks

Joel

I just spoke to Michael @ ETS and they told me they have never made a version with the bend in the dump tube.

ETS is an awesome vendor, they had one dump version in stock brand new, and it'll be here tomorrow. I'll post some pics showing how it fits

Thanks for calling in. It's super hard to tell which vendors downpipe it is. Once you get it off the car and get a couple pictures we could tell for sure. I

XtremeBoost (Just found out about this one) and a couple others.

Thanks.

Michael

Here are the photos I had of the DP, that I bought from a member from EvoXForums which was advertised as an ETS O2 DP. I never installed it as I ended up buying a T3 kit just after i bought the DP.

Definitely not ours. We have a nice CNC tapered flange since the start. I know a lot of the other companies started with plain jane flat flanges like this. We also use a straight section in our dump tube. Hopefully this guy will give you money back.

look at the angle of the flange? LOL that's clearly not an ETS downpipe.. So who do you blame? Englando? Since he originally sold it to this other guy claiming it was an ETS DP.

My ets downpipe installed. If this helps in any way. Probably not just wanted to show of the awesome quality of the ets unit.

To be fair to me, I was also sold it under the impressions it was an ETS DP. I never installed it and never even took it out of the box it was sent in. I sold it under the best of my knowledge and had no reason to doubt who made it. The guy who had it before me used it on his X and didnt have any fitment issues...well none that he disclosed.

Thanks
