I am getting the rude awakening to Evo drivetrain issues as well. Bought an 08 with 33k miles in the spring and by the time it had 39k miles, the clutch started slipping. Since I'm only 20 miles from Shephard Transmission I had them install an Exedy (their suggestion) and replace the final drive gear while they were at it. They made no mention of the stock CMC problems and within 3 weeks of installing the new clutch, the master cylinder blew out 50 miles from home. I LOVE this car, but I put 250k miles (lots of it running national TSD rallys) on an 02 WRX and didn't run into this kind of stuff

I knew about the issues the X's had with the CMC failures, and Mitsubishi's **** poor decision to put a plastic CMC in a 300hp/tq car, so I made sure that was replaced when the clutch was done. I kind of figured it was common knowledge. Either way, I know what ya mean. Still don't think I could trade this car for nothing, especially after dropping this money in.

I'm in the same boat with what I've got invested in it now. Need to get some miles out of it to feel like I'm getting a return on the cash. I also had to reinstall the original springs (vs. the lowered units that were on it when I bought it) due to the rallying I do on rough dirt roads so I'll be selling those springs (and some very nice aero stuff that wouldn't survive either) sometime in the near future.
