I have some ebay aluminum pipe laying around and i was thinking about fabricate an uicp, the main difference is that in my case the uicp will have 4 silicone connectors instead of the regular 3 that most aftermarket applications offer , i also have t clamps and the silicone connectors are good quality too, is there going to be a big difference by just adding 1 more flexible connector , i know the bling blng people will tell me to buy some nice $300 piece of shinning metal but performance wise is there really a big difference?

 

Performance wise, you won't notice a thing.

Only downside to more couplers is more possible boost leak spots.

 

I wouldn't advise it unless you have a bead roller to put on the lip of each pipe to prevent couplers popping off and boost leaks.

 

Vrspeedfactory has a 1pc upper for $165. I have it on mine. Looks nice price is good and there are only two couplers

 

I would suggest looking for one already made (aluminum). Chances are you may need to finagle with the IC pipe anyway, as most have some sort of fitment issues (which many will deny). But you can find one cheap.
