Exhaust With Deep Tone.
I agree, i have had my MXP for a year and a few months. On the stock cat and dp its just barely louder than stock at low rpm and cruising but at WOT it just unleashes an amazing race type growl. The tone is amazing as well. When i put my TP on, it made it a good bit louder but with no drone whatsoever. Lastly I put on my ETS o2 dump DP, it didnt make it much louder but it gave it more burble/gurgle. My brother said it sounds a hint like his STI. I had a tomei during this time but sold it, I just love my MXP way too much. I highly recommend the MXP
I'm just realllllly super picky about exhaust systems, and honestly, it's one thing to hear it on a video on YouTube, or on some company's website, it's totally another to hear it in person. You really need to be there in person to hear all the different sounds to make the best choice, but most times thats impossible.
For me personally, if I were to put together a list of things that would make or break what makes a person "like" a vehicle, (Excluding what's under the hood. Because not every car has to be a 10 second car to be a show car or look/sound good), the #1 spot goes to the exterior. How well the car looks with color mixes (i.e- black/chrome), if things like spoilers/stickers/decals, etc., aren't overboard and it actually fits the car. And the #2 spot would belong to the exhaust. Next to the exterior look of the car, its the 2nd major thing that can make or break a car. If a car's exhaust is crap, the car is crap, and you can have all the coolest bolt-ons and all the best little toys for your car, but if the exhaust sounds like crap, then your car is crap; and that's the one thing you can't get away from other than spending the money to buy a whole new system. Can't drive a car without there being an exhaust noise, and if it sucks, well.. =\ And then #3 would go to the interior
Only thing is it's all relative. Generally "car guys" will all generally recognize a good looking/running/sounding car. I have people all the time coming up to me telling me I have a nice car, or wanting to see it, etc. But what I think looks good on my car others might think looks like crap, and same goes for exhaust. What I think sounds just horrible someone else might just be so proud of he can't stop smiling. Like with me, I'd love to be able to ask "what's the best exhaust to put on my Evo to get a great sound." But I'll get 500 different answers. Now if I ask the question whats the best for performance, you'll usually only get a few answers because that's a question that can be backed up with numbers and not personal opinion.
An exhaust system to me is just a big thing, because like I said, once you buy it and it's on, it's on. And if you hate it you're either out the money and stuck with a sound you hate, or you yank it off try to sell it, then have to spend more money again for another one. So its a long process with me. I have to go through almost every system available for the car I'm putting it on and listen to them all, then compare performance gains with what sound I like the best and pick which one fits the bill, and that's a drawn out process.
Course then there's the people like what are around here and just go "I'm gettin glass packs" or "I'm just gunna get some Flowmaster 44's" without ever finding out what the darn things are going to sound like on their vehicle. It just boggles my mind someone would do that.

yeah i know what you mean man, it might be worth it to track down some locals and see/hear what they have.
I have been through 2 exhausts and listened to several local evos and i finally settled on the MXP
