noob turbo upgrade questions
I've never done a turbo swap before. Does a stock frame turbo mean that it bolts up to all the stock stuff without a problem? Meaning I basically unbolt the old turbo, plug water and coolant lines, plug in the new one and it all fits back up to the stock down pipe, UICP,intake, exhaust manifold…? Do i need an extra oil pump for a small turbo such as the EF@ and fp green? I couldn't find anything that involves how to turbo swap. I did find that a person should squirt oil into the turbo before starting for the first time to get oil in there and also flushing the coolant to get any air out. I will be getting my car tuned wight after the turbo is in. Anything else i should be aware of?
I just did a FP BB Black swap. Its pretty straight forward with the right tools! Read some How to before hand will save you a lot of time and trouble. For fuel pump and injector you might want to consult with your tuner. Have fun and good luck
Stock frame means the hotside of the turbo is a factory evo hotside so it will bolt up to the stock exhaust mabifold as opposed to a t3 setup which requires a different exhaust manifold. However in regards to the downpipe the evo does not go directly from the turbo to the downpipe its turbo-o2housibg-downpipe and it should fit correctly but if your doibg a turbo swap why would you have the stock exhaust and downpipe???
Extra oil pump. No however you will need to deal with the extra fueling

Just saw that you are from Alberta. I am from Edmonton
Yeah I assume you already planned to get a after test pipe and exhaust right? Those are the restriction you want to get rid of it. Stock frame turbo will bolt on to stock or any after market DP but the stock one will do just find. So if I were you, I will do Turbo, injectors, fuel pump depends on what turbo, Catted/Catless Test pipe, Catback.
