AMS stx400 package is it worth it ? please all come.
4-5k is appropriate for 350 awhp, depending on the dyno, and parts.
ETS test pipe - 260
Invidia CBE - 800
ETS Intake - 270
Pierburg Solenoid - 110
Cobb AP (optional) - 500
Dyno Tune - 500
Total - $1940
I'm at 300/300 wheel on the CBRD dyno. For my to get 350 on their dyno, I'm looking at least at downpipe, fmic, re-tune...another $1450. Total about $3400. And that's if all the work is done by me. I have my shop install most stuff in the interest of not driving modded up to them without a tune. Factor in my AP and install costs, and I'm about $4500...

I know this is an old thread but I did the ETS package 1 and 2 with the titanium catback upgrade. Is it worth the extra $500? ABSOLUTELY! Sounds amazing! Then had Buschur tune it for $300. Totally worth it to me. I was on the fence with the AMS 400 package, however, I didn't like the lack of options. Anodized IC, vented downpipe, etc. The car made 311* on Buschur's "heart break" dyno.
Also, installing the full ETS exhaust with titanium catback from OEM, the car lost a total of 46.5lbs!

I got the stx-400 on my 2010 MR, plus a 3 port and aem failsafe
She had 59k miles when i had everything installed, gonna hit 80k miles soon with no problem at all.
Recommend to get a pro tune after the install.
Im at 340whp Mustang

I'm still confused about the AMS STX300 vs STX400 package. Unless there is an error on their site, the dyno charts only show about a 30 hp difference between the two.
STX300 = 379hp and 383 tq
http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...a-Stage-1.html
STX400=405hp and 410tq
http://www.amsperformance.com/cart/A...0-Package.html
The difference in cost between the two is $3,000, if the dyno graphs are true then to me it's not worth the extra 3k for the stx400.

For more power you need mods, mods are expensive
I totally understand the limits of the tune part, just cant seem to fathom that you pay $3,000 for 26hp increase. To me that's terrible marketing and unjustifiable in the way its presented, thats all Im saying. Cheers
i would first figure out what HP goal you are trying to achieve, then plan from there. i think youll save money and get similar results when pieced together. All in all the magic is in the "PRO" Tune! Good luck.
I've got the STX400 without the exhaust with a conservative custom tune by AMS with dual map. It runs 332 awtq and 327 awhp on 93 octane. I have all the torque by ~3400 RPMs. The exhaust would get you more.
I think it is worth it. Clearly there is more in there with an exhaust (which I assume you would buy with it) and a less conservative tune. This was done for reliability and minimal noise (sleeper) with this car.

My big numbers will come with the BBX, I already know that, but hey I can dream right?
