it's roughly the same gains as any setup that includes all the same parts and a competent tune. AMS is quality stuff and a good company. I'm not sure what the cost difference is compared to buying all the stuff separately and/or different brands, but you'd want to compare similar quality brands like HKS, AEM, things like that. If you're looking for a simple, proven set of parts that shows up in one, big box, ready to go, the AMS setup is tough to beat.

I got all of my parts separate for a tad less but the AP was 500 and you need to buy their tune thats another $425.00 on top of that. Cobb only makes off the shelf maps for their intake for the 2010+ the only reason I'm not forking over the money for their tune is i also want to run a 3port and their tune isn't meant for that. But by all means i could not be anymore happy with their products everything is top notch and their customer service is 10/10.

AMS stx 400

I was thinking of this system as well but I have an MR.I would have to purchase the transmission cooler too it costs $530 on the AMS website the stx400 costs $3800 I am unsure of labor costs. This seems like a good system to me based solely on reliability. Not an inexpensive proposition

I would do it yourself except the o2 housing you might want to look into letting a shop do that.

Eh. Some of the AMS products are a bit overpriced. They love to cash in on the brand name and I don't blame them. I'd piece it together and save the money. If you're looking for quality products for the best price ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems) is a good place to start.

I was looking at it too. I think I will go with AMS exhaust, DP and intake. And then the ETS inter cooler and piping. Maybe ets intake, but for some reason I am drawn to AMS downpipe and exhaust.

Of course wide band and boost gauge too. Maybe get lucky and have to saw bolt on DP. Buy Cobb AP separate and then go get a tune. Now all I need is what 4-5k. That should be at least 350 whp on 93 pump gas.

Either that or spend 4-5k on another JL V2 1k watt amp, (I have one for my two 10w7s, but really need another), focal 3 ways and amp, replacing my overpriced and inefficient CDT speakers. A new alpine 7 in in dash (mine works, but won't play cds or dvds anymore, but I never would want to anyway, still upgrade would be nice).

Oh yeah sorry for rambling, but yeah you are probably better off buying separately. Also, never trust the maps. Always get a tune then street tune after with help from someone in person or even online. yeah so off the top of my head that is what I would tell you to do in person. Bottom line to reach 350whp safe I think it comes out to around 4-5K with all brand new parts.

I think that is on the high side. I have currently:

K&N SRI - $350
Invidia DP/TP - $250
Magnaflow CB - $490
GM BCS - $40
Michael Golden Custom Tune on 93 OCT @ 27PSI - $200

Total of $1330 (this does not include tactrix cable, which was $160)

I am currently hitting around 330 atw. A few more mods and you are hitting 350.

4-5k is appropriate for 350 awhp, depending on the dyno, and parts.

ETS test pipe - 260
Invidia CBE - 800
ETS Intake - 270
Pierburg Solenoid - 110
Cobb AP (optional) - 500
Dyno Tune - 500

Total - $1940

I'm at 300/300 wheel on the CBRD dyno. For my to get 350 on their dyno, I'm looking at least at downpipe, fmic, re-tune...another $1450. Total about $3400. And that's if all the work is done by me. I have my shop install most stuff in the interest of not driving modded up to them without a tune. Factor in my AP and install costs, and I'm about $4500...
