Loosing <1qts between 3.1k mile oil changes

Most of the time everything seems fine but every few days i might catch a whiff of burnt oil. Exhaust never produces visible blue smoke. The day i catch a whiff of it tend to be on cold start days (~-4'F).

No visible oil leaks but I don't know exactly where to be looking...

Thoughts? PVC?

What oil viscosity are you using and what brand? Also, is your car modified at all?

Mobile 1 | 5W-30 (factory fill)

55k miles. I have owned the car for a little under a year so i do not know what the previous owner did.

previous owner did intercooler, U/LICP, intake, turbo back. not sure what the previous owner did tune wise but i am running a stock flash right now.

Oh geeze, I don't think it's wise to be running all those modifications on the factory tune!

It could potentially explain your oil loss if the car is generating excess heat from the mods though. If you don't have a mechanical leak but are consistently losing oil, it sounds like burn-off. I would look into getting it tuned professionally or getting something like the Cobb Accessport and use an appropriate map. In the meantime, you could try using a higher quality synthetic oil like Amsoil, Motul or Red Line as each of those are resistant to burn-off.

I agree that it needs a tune but i am waiting till spring to install my wideband, install c-clamps, do a boot leak test, replace coolant etc. Things I want to do myself to save $$$ but is is too damn cold to do any of these things right now. It is my understanding that excess heat typically occurs when your AFR goes lean. Based on smell of exhaust, colour of exhaust at WOT and the smell of my oil it is running very rich.
