How to improve GSR clucth/tranny feel?

I have never been impressed with the GSR's transmissions shifting characteristics. It's at best notchy and at times something I have to put effort into shifting - typically mental effort to make sure I'm taking my time to avoid damaging the transmission.

Last weekend I drove a friend's Ford Focus ST and let him drive my X. One of the big takeaways was how much better the clutch and shifting experience was. Much smoother, tigher overall, etc. It left me jealous of the ST....yeah, I know.

Outside of that I use to own an STi that had a great tranny as well. I've driven Honda's as well and their manual transmissions are amazingl.

Overall, this might be one of the weakest features in the X - not from a strenght pov, but from a quality of use angle. Are there aftermarket parts that an address this? I understand there are some bushing upgrades out there that may help, but in searching it doesn't seem like that is a cure all. There is another thread on CMC upgrades, but those also seem to be a bit lackluster.

Thoughts?

you can get shifter bushings, underhood bushings, as well as a nice heavy shift knob. Some trans fluids also make a difference.

I had the same problem bud..what i did was invest in kracka's shift package. It was well worth it. The shifting is smoother and feels solid. A significant difference. I bought mine from MAP

My gearbox actually shifts real smooth like butter, I had a another member on forum drove my car and he was real surprised with the way my car shifts.
So this is what I did to get that effect, I did all 3 things at once so I am unsure which one made the biggest improvement.
Number 1 redline cocktail
Number 2 Clutch restrictor pill removal
Number 3 400G shift knob
And it shifts so smooth i don't get any grind or notchy feeling at all.

my gearbox also is pretty smooth, i also havent done too much to it too. I went with the TWM short shifter, TWM base bushings and a really heavy shift knob (671 grams).
