AMS/Cobb Parts

Just ordered the AMS intercooler and Cobb upper/lower pipe kit. Wondering what yalls thoughts are on these products? AMS boasts that they gained 10 HP just by installing intercooler. Next week going E85 then onto bigger turbo.

Installed Cobbs intercooler pipe kit last night. Also the AMS intercooler. Install very straight forward no surprises except that the intercooler was revised in 2010 which requires removing lower stock intercooler brace which is not needed. The hardest part of this job was those damn stupid black clips that hold the protective underneath panel. I have the panel back in car half *** with the balck clips and zip ties. Are these one time use!!?? I am going to dealer to get a bag of new clips and I am sure they aint gonna be cheap. My Ford had the same underneath panel that was a piece of cake. Gave car a test drive and all is well.

Get the clips on eBay. Dealers are a rip. They wanted $4 for each. I bout a bag of 30 on eBay for the same price and they work great. Replace as needed whenever you work on the car.

Overpriced is what I think. When it comes to AMS then their DP and FMIC is what's definitely worth the money (FMIC almost not so much but it is one hell of a piece). Otherwise there's a less expensive alternative that performs equally well for everything else they make meant for a stock turbo cars. Personally I rock ETS everything and the only think I think is ridiculous is how their 90* UICP piece is 120 bucks- not worth 120 at all. Everything else is great.

All Evo X products are over priced. This is the world we picked to live in. I myself looked at the after market prices before purchasing Evo. So I knew what I was getting into. Finding a bargain. Nothing wrong with that.

I went with the Mishimoto Performance Intercooler its 3.5 wide and I only had to undo the front part of the under tray and installation took maybe an hour very smooth process.

This Intercooler I was going to go with. But spent the $$ for the best.
