I am starting my search for an engine block. Blew a hole in the side of mine and I am starting to get to where I can afford to fix it.

My original plan was 850+ awhp, then life happened and now I am almost to where I can start my build. Going to be a slow build but it should be fun.

Anyway, does anyone know the best place to pick up a good block? Dealership I know, and some shops will sell them but I am looking for the best deal I can find, it will get sleeved and machined so I wouldnt think it has to be brand new.

Yea they are nice, I just need the block though. I will have it sleeved and build it myself. Plus I cant see paying 2k for a sleeve job, I need to call and check with my local shop, but last time I had something sleeved it was like $80 a cylinder with them supplying the sleeves lol

 

At 800awhp expect to blow more holes through the 4b11... 600 awhp would be a little more reliable

 

Fred Beans on Ebay for a new OEM short block. Only $1875 list and you may be able to talk them down.

You can sell the pistons and rods to recoup a few hundred $ or keep them as spares.

 

That's a bare block with no pistons, rods or crank.

The full OEM shortblock part number is different, #1000B021
