Thanks man... That kind of makes sense, sounds like Mitsubishi should have built a better oil pump and likely won't be recalling something just for noise. I run fully syn in my car and will pay closer attention to the noise at the next oil change.

Well I dont know about a 'better' oil pump.. its a pretty simple thing.. not really sure why it makes the noise but might have something to do with the oil pick up from the sump rather than the pump itself, but I'm just guessing on this one. But I do find some oils make noise quicker than others. When my car was new with the original oil, at 2000km it made a lot of noise.. and when I drained the oil it really looked like ****. Brown and chunky almost lol. Not sure what kind of oil the factory puts in but after the first change it was night and day.

Oh, also, Im surprised that they say to do the first oil change at whatever km's/miles. I'd do it at 1000 km for sure just to get the gunk out. I'd imagine the oil filter was probably clogged too.
