Plans for my 14 MR
Plans for my 14 MR
Sup guys, could I please get some advice/tips on the mods for my car.
It's a DD, not a track car or a 400whp beast. I'd be happy with 320-330 after protune, looking for a healthy, properly built car and not blowing it up just because I have some mods.
That being said, this is what I HAVE already, not installed yet:
1. Cobb AP
2. AEM Intake
3. GReddy EVO 2 Cat back
Here are the questions/concerns:
1. UICP or the whole IC kit for the extra cushion?
2. Grimmspeed EBCS
3. Test Pipe and Down pipe? I come from Subies, a TBE is DP+CBE, obv EVO have 4 pipes, and I read even aftermarket TP are just 3'' pipe like stock? Do I even need to go there or the CBE is plenty?
Thanks fellas

i'd get a high quality fmic along with the uicp. Licp is a waste.
2. Grimmspeed ebcs
good choice and needed for quality tune.
3. Test pipe and down pipe? I come from subies, a tbe is dp+cbe, obv evo have 4 pipes, and i read even aftermarket tp are just 3'' pipe like stock? Do i even need to go there or the cbe is plenty?
forget the downpipe unless your looking to go to a larger turbo setup. I'd run a 3" mid pipe along with a 100 cell hfc. Very small gains running a test pipe vs a hfc on a oem turbo.
last, have a quality tuner use your cobb to get everything out of the motor...
thanks fellas

hth,
hazmat
Thank you very much
So LICP is a waste how? Isn't it the same construction/size as the UICP (Weak/deforms, too much rubber)?
-So just do catback + HFC
-Grimmspeed EBCS should be installed at the tuner? I am 30 mins away from the tuner, I can drive under boost no doubt but is it worth the risk...
Thank you...!
