EVO X wavetrac rear diff interest thread

hey guys,
as many of you know the rear diff is prone to weakness and there are very few options to beef it up.
here is the known weak link we would be replacing

Wavetrac already has the design and these would retail for 1195.00 exclusively through us.
To get the ball rolling we are looking to do a group buy of up to 25 units.
anyone that gets in on the group buy would get it for 1095.00
We would require 50% down to hold one and the rest due when the units are completed.
roughly 90-120 days.

so who is interested?

For $1195, I think it would be a hard sell when you could just go to a RA/8/9 Rear diff conversation which opens up options as well, unless the person really wants to keep S-AYC.

cusco is 1260.00
and intro price is 1095 if you get in on the group buy.
this would be for people that want to keep AYC

I take it you are not a fan of the S-AYC? Notice a lot of people ditching it on higher powered cars. Is the handling improved ditching the S-AYC.....I thought this was a selling point on the X's handling? I myself have considered due to my power level (700+ dyno jet) and can S-AYC even keep up at the power level, especially if want to take the car to the drag strip.

How does a gear-based (or plate-lsd) live with a AYC - don't they fight each other?

According to Wavetrac their diff will work just like stock with the ayc but the car would be less dependent on the electronics because of the lsd being installed. I cant speak for the plate type though.

I'd definitely be into it, but if the hurdle is a group order that big I don't think it'll ever happen.

AYC is simply an electronic/hydraulic controlled LSD that is attached to the stock open diff. So, you remove the stock open diff and put in an LSD, and they supplement each other. They don't fight each other.

I know they are separate, but if the AYC tries to overdrive the outer tire - wouldn't the LSD (of either type) resist this up to the limit of traction of the two rear tires? Eventually, the limit of traction for the rear tires would be reached though...So even though it would work it may entail more wear in the AYC clutches?

Anyway, this is a really cool piece of hardware however it works with ayc.

That's all a limited slip is trying to do, send power to the tire with traction. It won't fight it. Like said, it will supplement it.

it helps a little.
we would want to sell at least half of the pre order. so we would need 12 more interested people.
thanks,
John

Surely you could squeeze a couple of evaluation prototypes of of them? It would be great if there was a 12-deep queue waiting for these but it would be a lot easier to get if there were actual results to sell off of.
