Question "HELP" Best Clutch/Flywheel setup for a daily driver (350-400whp)

So i finally got the chance to buy an EVO X GSR and i am thinking of getting some Bolt-ons ASAP for now and possibly some cams and a turbo upgrade in the future.. i know that the stock clutch barely handles the car's stock power, so i am looking to upgrade them so suit the power (350-400whp).

could you guys help me with choosing the best clutch setup for me. as i said, its going to be my daily car with occasional street pulls and rarely any 1st gear launches.

THANK IN ADVANCE!

Competition Stage 2 gets my vote with the stock flywheel. Stock like feel that holds the torque to your power levels you want. And upgrade your CMC when you do the clutch.

Yea...the GSR clutch handles full bolt-ons just fine. 20k miles at 100whp over stock and still going strong. It's all in the driver.

I just had a clutch done on my 08 x. got 100k miles on my stock clutch making 365 whp 360 wtq . could never launch it because it would not hold. i just did a competition stg 2. i love it. still breaking it in ,but it feels awesome. just a little stiffer.

Competition Stage 2 "street" disc. stage 3 is not full disc and better suited for racing. I DD my Competition stage 2 and love it, smooth engagement, slightly stiffer than stock. I am making 450 hp and 360 tq on mine.

I second Ronaldo9 with comp stage 2. Don't make the lightweight flywheel mistake like I did. It sucks.

It's my understanding that this is no longer necessary if you got the CMC replaced when Mitsu sent out the recall. Thoughts?

Do you ever launch your Evo? Any issues with this setup if you do?

Negative. If you get a heavier pressure plate, you'll still need to upgrade your CMC. The recall still replaces your CMC with another plastic one. The only difference is that it uses a dual-beveled edge to fit the two sides of the CMC together so that it holds the fluid better. It still doesn't help with the pressure increase of an aftermarket heavy-duty pressure plate.

Competition stage 2 also gets my vote. Drives like stock. Awesome for daily drive.

What do you guys think about the Clutchmaster's Fx200 or ACT ME3 HDSS? MAP recommended them to me for daily driving but I heard Comp stage 2 is very smooth as well. Any Personal feedback from these?

Speaking from experience I am running a ACT 6 puck clutch kit with the ACT light weight flywheel, and let me tell you that this isn't the best rout for a DD. But that being said here's why. My wife cant drive the car to save her life, the clutch is just so fragile no room to play with, its ether engaged or not lol but I don't have an issue with it, but also I'm running the set up on 454 HP and its been handling it great. So if its just you that will always drive the car I think the ACT Clutch kit is worth looking at. Good luck.
